DAVAO CITY -- Former world champion Harmonito 'Hammer' dela Torre of Gen. Santos City suffered a first round knockout to Shuichiro Yoshino of Japan for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific and vacant OPBF lightweight titles last Oct. 10 at the Korakuen Hall in Japan.

It was the third setback suffered by Dela Torre against 20 wins while undefeated Yoshino won its 11th victory and the 9th knockout.

The 28-year old Yoshino earlier TKO'd compatriot Accel Sumiyoshi in the 7th round to win the Japanese lightweight title last April 11 in Korakuen Hall.

Meanwhile, Yuto Takahashi scored an upset victory with majority decision over Kenichi Horikawa to win the Japanese light flyweight title in the under card.

The promoter was Takashi Misako of Misako Promotions.
