Melindo loses by a 6th round TKO

DAVAO CITY -- Former IBF and IBO world light flyweight champion Milan Melindo lost by a 6th round to undefeated Junto Nakatani of Japan last Oct. 5 at the Korakuen Hall in Japan.

It was the 5th setback suffered by Milan after 37 wins and 13 knockouts.

Milan nicknamed 'Method Man' suffered his third straight defeat of his career.

He first lost to Ryoichi Taguchi of Japan by a unanimous decision in their battle for the IBF World light flyweight and WBA Super light flyweight titles fight at 2017 in Japan.

Milan then suffered a TKO to Ken Shiro of Japan in the 7th round for the World Boxing Council world light flyweight title last 2018 in Japan.

The 21-year old Nakatani, on the other hand has 20 wins with 15 knockouts.

He earlier won the vacant Japanese flyweight title by a 9th round TKO'd over Naoki Mochizuki last Feb. 2.

The boxing event was promoted by MT Boxing Gym.
