3 out 4 win in Samal Bakbakan

DAVAO CITY -- Three out of four bouts came out in the "Bakbakan sa Babak" in Sept. 7 in Babak, Samal City.

Selvister Aredidon of Sto. Nino, Samal posted a 1st round knockout against Froilan Golo of Butuan. It was, however, a slow start for Aredidon as he was first knock down by Golo.
But Aredidon came back strong with his own knockdown immediately. He again put up more telling blows for the knockout in 2:30 in the 1st round.

In the second bout, Jessie Bell Gontiano of Penaplata, Samal survived a left eye cut to beat James Junio of Butuan by a unanimous decision while Nilo Entero of Toril, Samal defeated Mark Mapandi Galo of Butuan by a unanimous decision.
In the main event, 21-year old Ian Donaire of Caliklik, Samal settled a split draw with Enferne "Impyerno" Palarca of Butuan in the 6-round bout.

Judge Lito delos Reyes saw it 57-56 for Donaire while referee-judge Rodel Garde have it 58-55 for Palarca. Judge Mario de Ramos gave it a tie for 56-56.

Donaire had a good start in the first three rounds but Palarca came back with strong body blows in the last three rounds. Palarca, however committed a mistake in the 4th round by throwing an illegal punch to Donaire.

Donaire has 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw while Palarca has 3 wins, 2 loss and 1 draw.

The promotion was made by Willie Neri of Winer Sports in coordination with Liga ng mga Baragay and City Sports Development Office for the benefit of Samal City Amateur Boxing team. (Lito delos Reyes)
