Tagbilaran City, Bohol ? The Pride of Bohol Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo (19-0-0, 14 KOs) returns to face former world champion Panya Uthok (53-6-0, 35 KOs), otherwise known as Pungluang Sor Singyu Onesong, of Thailand for the vacant WBC Asia Featherweight title.
The regional championship bout will be held tonight at the Bohol Wisdom Gymnasium in Tagbilaran City, Bohol under Vladimir Boxing Promotions.
During the press conference held last Thursday, Uthok confidently said that he will take home the belt. Magsayo, on the other hand, did not predict anything, but said that he expects that they will both give a good fight since his opponent is also a great warrior. The 24-year-old Pinoy pug also promised to do his best inside the ring so the people can have an exciting fight to watch.
This is the first time in almost two years for Magsayo to have his bout held here in the Philippines after contractual issues with former promoter ALA Boxing Promotions prevented him from fighting on native soil.
Uthok, a two-time world champion, may be best remembered by Pinoy fight fans as the boxer that knocked AJ ?Bazooka? Banal out in the 9th round of their WBO World Bantamweight Championship bout way back in 2012 to stun the hometown fans at the jam-packed SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Also part of the boxing card is the Philippine Games & Amusement Board championship bout between Giovanni Escaner of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat and Renoel Pael of Matalom, Leyte.
Tickets for the event are now available on SM Ticket Outlets, Tagbilaran City GSO Office, Bohol Tropics Resort, Harada Boxing Gym and may be bought online via Vladimir Boxing Promotions Facebook Page /vladimirboxingpromotions.
