Thrilling success for Neil Cairo Sy Boxing Promotions last weekend at Mindanao's paradise coastal town of Sindangan in Zamboanga del Norte.
In the main attraction, local Sindangan featherweight Alan Alberca (10-3, 6 KO's) scored a ten-round unanimous decision win over visiting tough warrior Marjhun Tabamo (9-18-4, 2 KO's) of Cagayan de Oro.
The 22-year-old Alberca was the superior fighter, besting the less effective Tabamo who did not seem to find his rhythm. The fan-friendly clash fully entertained the fans in attendance with its good action.
In the co-feature, super bantamweight Emmanuel Mogawa (4-2, 2 KO's) of Dipolog secured an 8-chapter majority decision victory over rugged veteran gladiator Donny Mabao (23-40-3, 5 KO's) of Bukidnon.
In another rumble, rookie flyweight Joseph Lanat (2-0, 1 KO), overpowered in three rounds more experienced Camiguin-native Charles Canedo (8-6, 4 KO's).
From the getgo Lanat took control of action and never let go till the TKO sank-in. The war was scheduled for six chapters, but did not make the distance. It was Lanat's second pro win. His first triumph was last March in the Town of Roseller Lim in Zamboanga Sibugay.
Moreover, local Sindangan combatant Mark Marticio (4-3-1, 2 KO's) edged 27-year-old southpaw Nelmark "Macmac" Toledo (2-3, 1 KO) of the nearby Town of Josefina for a majority decision win. Their duel was in an exciting 4-stanza battle in the flyweight division.
In the first combat of the evening, 115-pounder Joshua Rouel Sugabo won a close split decision over game 28-year-old Ramie Gaabon (1-10-1, 0 KO's) of the City of Golden Friendship, Cagayan de Oro. Their close encounter was a four-round battle in the super flyweight division.
The exciting 5-bout boxing event last weekend in Benwa Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte, was an effort of local 23-year-old boxing promoter Neil Cairo Sy.
