The World Boxing Organization (WBO), through its WBO Asia Pacific Chairman Leon Panoncillo, once again made sure Christmas would be worth remembering for some Thai kids when it held the "Kids Drug Free Program" in Ratchada, Bangkok.
Panoncillo, along with some members of his group, distributed gifts, foods, toys, clothing, bicycles, and baby products for the more than fifty less fortunate kids in Sueyai Homeless Slum area at Rachada, Bangkok, Thailand.
"They gave thanks to the WBO by singing their Thai melody squeaky song of the 1yr to 4yr old kids, of how thankful they where, many of the children cried and most of them did not know why we were giving the toys for free," said Panoncillo.
The WBO has been doing this charity program for years now, where it makes sure kids, especially the less fortunate ones, will share in the bounty of the year past.
Last year, the WBO held its gift-giving in Cebu, Philippines, where two charitable institutions for kids benefited from the outreach program.
"Parents of the homeless kids did not know how to react after giving the gifts to them. It was sure a pleasure of providing them gifts and help that they needed, this really gave them the feel of the Christmas holidays of gift giving to all. WBO have sure made an impact in Thailand and we will be remembered as most of these parents & kids will look at a brighter life because of how our organization cared of the unfortunate kids of Thailand," said Panoncillo.
Panoncillo also thanks those who shared their precious time for the gift-giving, namely Ms. Mali Aramvechvoranun, Ms. A-sa Amornprasert, Ms. Moi Sinaghai, Ms. Kokhai Thonghong, Mr. Jojo "Pogi" Palacios and all the helpers that dovoted their time to make this happen.
"It took a lot of preparation to hire cooks, a truck driver to load the gifts and laborers to carry sacks of rice and gifts. All went well, Happy New Year. Thanks," said Panoncillo.
