WBO Asia-Pacific junior flyweight champ Along Denoy stopped veteran Nelson Llanos in the sixth round of a non-title bout in Bantayan Island last December 29.
The highly-improved Denoy stopped Llanos at the 1:12 mark of the sixth round.
Denoy, who is apparently being feared by Thai fighters, was originally slated to defend his title last December 25 against Neth Sasiprapa and earlier in a rematch with Kaichon Sor Vorapin. The two Thais, however, opted not to face Denoy owing to his easy handling of Vorapin when he dethroned the latter for the WBO title.
"Denoy is now free to defend his title against anyone," explained WBO Asia Pacific chairman Leon Panoncillo, noting that the Thai fighters seem to have developed fear of the Boholano bulldog.
In the other bouts: Glenn Masicampo decisioned Melvin Ayudtud; Fabio Marfa decisioned R. Mabao; and Rey Las Pinas TKO'd Markyll Taroja.
