Las Vegas-based Anthony Martin will serve as the cutman when Filipino Bert Batawang plunges into action on December 15 to challenge the very talented IBF junior flyweight king Ulises Solis in Guadalajara, Mexico.

"Got a call from Sammy (Gello-ani) today, I am off to Mexico to act as the cut man for Batawang," informed Martin in an interview today from his residence in Las Vegas.

"I have a feeling that Bert can pull this off, even though we are going into the Lion's den," maintains Martin, noting that Batawang's power will be too much to handle for Solis.

Aside from training and serving as cutman for local fights in Vegas, Martin says he is occupied with work at the gym.

"I now have a girl I am training, six weeks ago she won her first professional fight, our next fight will be at the Orleans Casino on January 11th, 2008. This girl has a lot of talent, extremely brave and good looking. Lets see how she performs next year. By the way she fights at 115lbs."

Batawang has already arrived in Guadalajara accompanied by manager Sammy Gello-ani, trainer Jeremiah Quijano, and Philboxing.com's Dong Secuya who is the only Filipino mediaman covering the Batawang-Solis showdown on location.

Secuya is coming off a location coverage of the Floyd Mayweather-Ricky Hatton superbout, where he was at ringside with Philboxing.com's LA-based correspondent Ed De la Vega.
