LOS ANGELES ? LEAD trainer Buboy Fernandez and conditioning guru Justin Fortune decided to give reigning World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight champ Manny Pacquiao a break ?to allow his body to fully recover.?

?Malakas at mabilis naman ang kilos niya. Kaya lang medyo lubog yong mata at inamin niyang mabigat ?yong katawan niya. So, nagdecide kami ni coach Justin na bigyan siya ng pahinga,? Fernandez bared.

Pacquiao and supervising coach Freddie Roach had just finished two rounds of punch mitts Friday afternoon when Coach Buboy and Justin noticed something.

The Team Pacquiao mainstays huddled up during the break then decided to call it a day.

?During the training camp for the Matthysse fight, ginawa na namin ito. Pag nakita namin na medyo pagod siya, we advised him to rest at naniwala naman siya,? Fernandez added.

Fernandez claimed Pacquiao is already in his 40s and his body needs longer time to recover from a rigorous exercise.

Early Thursday morning, Pacquiao went on a six-mile uphill run at the Griffith Park to boost his stamina.

After scaling the height of Hollywood Mountain, Pacquiao complained of strong and freezing wind.

?Ang lakas ng hangin at ang lamig kanina sa Griffith Park,? Pacquiao was overheard saying.

?Napansin ko, mas maganda ang kilos niya pag well rested siya. Wala naman tayong problema kasi todo-bigay siya sa ensayo,? Fernandez added.

On Thursday, Pacquiao logged a total of 25 rounds ? 10 rounds on sparring, six rounds on punch mitts, four rounds on shadow box, two rounds on double end bag, two rounds on speed bag and three-minute long skipping rope.

He is scheduled to spar for 12 rounds Saturday afternoon against three different sparring mates.
