GENERAL SANTOS CITY ? Pricey items like cars, motorcycles and appliances will be raffled off during Senator Manny Pacquiao?s 40th birthday celebration on Monday, December 17, in one of the city?s premier shopping malls here.
Mel Bernabe, Pacquiao?s most trusted lieutenant, bared a Ford ranger pick-up, a Toyota Vios, two Suzuki Dzire, 58 motorcycles, 24 40-inch LED television and 1,250 assorted gifts are up for grabs during the event.
?This is Senator Pacquiao?s way of sharing his blessings to people especially the poorest of the poor,? Bernabe claimed.
A day before his birthday, Pacquiao, after attending a Sunday church service, went to depressed villages in Sarangani and General Santos where he distributed assorted grocery items to more than 2,000 poor residents.
This has been Pacquiao?s tradition to thank God for all the blessings he reaped as a phenomenal prizefighter.
To accommodate more guests, two different yet adjacent venues were tapped. The first venue is KCC convention center and the other is Veranza Mall. The program will be livestreamed to allow guests at the Veranza Mall to watch the event.
More than 12,000 tickets will be distributed to the guests ? about 2,000 tickets for the indoor guests at KCC convention center and more than 10,000 tickets for the invitees attending an alfresco party at the Veranza Mall.
President Rodrigo Duterte leads the list of VIP guests, which include politicians and showbiz personalities, among others.
A week before his 40th birthday, Pacquiao brought smile to faces of household workers and security personnel of Dasmarinas Village and Forbes Park in Makati City when he distributed an early Christmas cash gift worth P1,000 to P3,000 each.
The queue was getting longer each day in front of Pacman?s Dasmarinas residence as the news about his kindness and generosity spread like a prairie fire around the posh village.
One household employee at Dasmarinas Village who asked not to be named said ?Si Senador Pacquiao lang ang namimigay nang ganito sa aming mga kasambahay.?
