CEBU CITY--Reacting to a report saying that popular Mexican Jorge "Travieso" Arce wants to fight him, world flyweight champion Nonito Donaire and his trainer father Nonito Sr immediately issued this statement: "Arce is next!"

Although not looking past their December 1 opponent Luis Maldonado, the Donaires have welcomed Arce's dare and hopes the Mexican backs up his statement.

"Donaire is a great champion. Humble. He deserves my respect. He didn?t say much. He just simply went in there and KO?d the big mouth Vic Darchinyan. If I get a chance to fight with him it will be a great fight. But believe me, it won?t be like that fight he had with the fraud Vic Darhinyan. It? would be a classic," Arce told Fightbeat.com.

Donaire is himself eyeing a huge fight with Arce, stating that they were originally contacted to fight him, and the Fil-American champion had even tried bulking up to prepare for the Mexican warrior. However, by some mysterious twist, Donaire was told Arce will not be his next opponent but Maldonado.
