LOS ANGELES, CA. -- Former world champion Gerry Penalosa sees Jerwin Ancajas the victor against Jonas Sultan on May 26.
But, according to Penalosa, the victory will not come in a silver platter for the 26-year-old champion, because he expect Sultan, being the challenger, to give him more pressure.
"Of course, it will be a very good fight. Ancajas by decision," Penalosa said.

He explained why he choose Ancajas over Sultan.
"Skills-wise angat si Ancajas, but, Sultan is more hungry, that's why he will give a good fight," added the 47-year-old Penalosa, who now manages his boxing gym in different venues in Manila.

The Ancajas-Sultan encounter will take place at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Ca.

Like Penalosa, Nonito Donaire Sr., has also predicted a win for Ancajas, noting that the champion has more advantage than Sultan.
"Dito wala tayong pinapanigan, puro kalahi natin ang maglalaban. Ito opinyon ko lang, magkaedad lang silang dalawa, experience wise lamang si Jerwin, knockout ratio nila halos parehas din. Mas marami lang talo si Sultan. Base sa experience ng dalawa lamang si Ancajas. Ring generalship mas lamang si Ancajas. So, siya palagay ko ang mananalo," Donaire explained.

Donaire Sr. who accompanied a boxer in Manchester over the weekend and will travel back to the Philippines on Thursday to rejoin the training camp of Manny Pacquiao for his July 15 fight against Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Unlike Penalosa and Donaire, ex-world champion Luisito Espinosa, now based in China, did not make any prediction to the fight, saying: "Hindi ko kasi sila nasubaybayan, hindi ko rin napanood mga fight nila. Kaya goodluck na lang sa kanila."

Ancajas, 29-1-1, will defend his IBF superflyweight crown for the fifth time since he won against McJoe Arroyo of Puerto Rico in 2016.

Meanwhile, Ancajas' chief trainer Joven Jimenez shrugged off comments made by Sultan's trainer Edito Villamor regarding his ward's fighting style.

"No comment po. Alam na po ni Jerwin kung ano gagawin sa laban at bahala na po ang Diyos sa amin," Jimenez said.

Earlier, Villamor admitted that Ancajas is a good fighter, but the champion is easy to read.

"Magaling si Jerwin, pero, hindi siya pressure fighter, ung suntok niya isa, dalawa, isa," Villamor said.
