The WBC's former secretary-general, the well-loved Atty Rudy Salud, one of the country's most respected boxing personalities, is scheduled to meet up today with his long-time friend Don Jose Sulaiman, the head of the WBC.

GAB Chairman Eric Buhain, who is at the forefront of Manila's hosting of the 45th WBC Annual World Convention, informed moments ago that Salud has also invited both Don Jose and his son Mauricio to visit his residence for a get-together.

Sulaiman and Buhain are expected to grace the SCOOP Forum today in Manila, and they will most likely be joined by OPBF chairman Frank Quill of Australia and Mauricio Sulaiman.

The OPBF meeting is slated on Monday afternoon and Tuesday, added Buhain.

OPBF president Frank Quill, who spoke to this writer moments ago, said he is looking forward to having a great WBC Convention in Manila. Quill, who was with his long-time friend Bruce McTavish, also confirmed that the OPBF meeting will take place next week.

This year's Convention is expected to break attendance records of recent conventions.

"There will be arrivals from all over," said Buhain, who noted that close to a thousand foreign and local delegates, including the who's who in boxing, are expected to grace the formal opening on Monday.

Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is scheduled to grace Monday's opening rites, added Buhain.

GAB Boxing Chief Nasser Cruz also said that the ratings meeting will also take place today.
