Newly-installed Arena Grandmaster Roberto Suelo on a roll, wins Singapore chess title

4.5 points---IM elect Edgar Reggie Olay (Philippines)
4.0 points---FM Andrea Susilodinata (Indonesia)
3.5 points---Lincon Yap (Philippines)
2.5 points---Zi Han Goh (Singapore)
1.5 points---Aldrin Wong (Singapore)

SINGAPORE-based Filipino National Master Roberto Suelo Jr. continues his winning ways in the Singapore Chess Tournament.
Banking on his experience and international exposure, Suelo added the Asean Chess Academy (ACA) Rapid Open Chess Championships to his growing list of chess honors held Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Bukit Timah Shopping Centre in Singapore.
He received 300 Singapore dollar champions' purse for his effort. Suelo got undefeated in six games of play with four wins and two draws.

The win enabled Suelo, a chess instructor, to capture his second straight Singapore chess title this month including his victory in the Asean Chess Academy (ACA) Rapid Open Chess Championships dubbed as Labor Day Tournament last May 1, 2018, was held at the Bukit Timah Shopping Centre in Singapore.

?Again I would like to dedicate my victory to my countrymen. It's an honor to represent our country,? added Suelo, an active member of the International Churches of Christ (ICOC) in Singapore.

The 1996 Philippine Junior champion Suelo, a former top player of Rizal Technological University (RTU) Mandaluyong City also got his Arena Grandmaster Title (AGM) in FIDE (World Chess Federation)online arena this month.

Rounding up the top 6 were International Master (IM) elect Edgar Reggie Olay of the Philippines (4.5 pts.), FM Andrea Susilodinata of Indonesia (4 pts.), Lincon Yap of the Philippines (3.5 pts.), Zi Han Goh (2.5 pts.) and Aldrin Wong of Singapore (1.5 pts.).
