IBF and IBO flyweight champion Nonito Donaire has been steadily getting rid of the extra baggage as he is now down to a comfortable weight after just two weeks of training in Cebu City.

Donaire's father and trainer Nonito Sr said that he has allowed his son to take full meals as he is not worried of his weight, with still three more weeks left before the fight.

Donaire has been working out at the ALA Gym, and has been sparring against the likes of RP flyweight champ Rocky Fuentes, RP bantam champ Michael Domingo, and rated fighters Reman Salim and Louie Bantigue.

"Next week, he will be sparring eight rounds against these guys, aside from the usual mitt work and other stuff" noted Nonito Sr

The flyweight champ has been alternating his morning runs at the ALA track oval and at an exclusive, covered track located in Cebu City.

The father-and-son team is slated to fly to Manila early morning tomorrow as Nonito Jr has been tapped by ABS-CBN as one of the studio commentators for the Juan Manuel Marquez-Rocky Juarez WBC superfeatherweight title showdown.

ABS-CBN will air the Marquez-Juarez bout tomorrow starting at 9AM.

The Donaires have been all praises for their Cebu training so far, noting the facilities at the ALA Gym and the weather that makes sweating out a virtual walk in the park.

"We are even contemplating on investing here in Cebu," said Nonito Sr, pointing out that they might put up a Genergex gas station for only half a million pesos, and possibly purchase a house in one of the subdivisions overlooking the city.
