CEBU CITY -- World flyweight champion Nonito Donaire yesterday sparred against two reigning Philippine champions, and came out asking for more as he punished the heavy bags following the six-round sparring session.
Donaire first took on RP flyweight champion Rocky Fuentes for three rounds, then traded leathers with RP bantamweight king Michael Domingo for another three rounds.
Both Fuentes and Domingo have scheduled fights on December 2 at the Araneta Coliseum, the same day Donaire is set to defend his title against Mexican Luis Maldonado.
This morning, the 24-year-old world champion ran at the ALA Gym track oval and was visibly sprinting well after taking Arthro, the popular marine-based food supplement.
On Sunday, Donaire and his father-trainer Nonito Sr are scheduled to fly to Manila early morning as the young champion has been tapped by ABS-CBN to be part of the panel that will do the live commentary of the Juan Manuel Marquez-Rocky Juarez WBC 130-lb fight.
The duo will return to Cebu later in the day after fulfilling other commitments in Manila including media interviews.
