CEBU CITY--World flyweight champion Nonito Donaire yesterday did several rounds of shadow-boxing at the ALA Gym under the supervision of his father-trainer Nonito Sr.

The 24-year-old champion is slated to resume sparring next week after taking on Philippine flyweight champ Rocky Fuentes and Louie Bantigue last week.

Donaire ran early morning yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Today, the IBF and IBO world champion will be taking a day off, and will most likely visit the world class resort at Plantation Bay and the famous Shangri-La in Mactan Island with his dad and Cebuano friend Gerry Malixi with Cebu City Councilor Sylvan 'Jack' Jakosalem.

Donaire was also a special guest the other day at the Southhills residence of Cebu sportsman Jonathan Guardo, a huge fan of the world flyweight champion.

The night before, the family of Cebu's revered boxing patron Antonio L. Aldeguer welcomed the Donaires at their mansion in Maria Luisa Village, where they were joined by Aldeguer sons Jay, Michael (with wife Christine) and the Las Vegas-based Chris (with better half Nia).
