CHICAGO -- In the 60 kg division, Genebert Basadre won on points, 19-13, in a very competitive chess match against a game but outgunned Ognyan Kolev of Bulgaria in the ongoing World Boxing Championships here.

The fight, won at 5:15pm Eastern Time, was an entertaining counter punching affair as the bipartisan Bulgarian and Filipino crowd cheered the entire time in an equally competitive, but respectful, verbal joust.

Two wins just as Philboxing arrived in the University of Chicago Sports Pavilion?coincidence? Just as the Pacman?s lucky charm has been the flag colored mouthpiece fabricated by Dr. Ed de la Vega, this Philboxing laptop might too be a lucky talisman for our very skilled amateur Team!
