"King" Arthur Villanueva will face WBC bantamweight world champion Luis "Pantera" Nery on Saturday, November 4, at the Gasmart Stadium in Tijuana, Mexico to fight in a ten round non-title bout. Nery surprisingly grabbed the world championship by demolishing Japanese boxing legend Shinsuke Yamanaka in an upset win last August. But the celebration of a huge victory was aborted when it was found out that Nery failed a post-fight drug test.

The WBC stated that it has received the findings of the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association that traces of Zilpaterol were found in Nery?s blood. The banned substance has similarity to Clembuterol which is used to enlarge the size of cattle. Nery's team explained that it was likely due to contaminated meat that he had eaten. The WBC has yet to rule on the irregularity but the Council President Maurcio Sulaiman seems to be favoring Nery's on the controversy.

"I am convinced that there was no doping. It is a complicated issue because of the legality of doping, but he is a clean young man and he has shown it. He fights to make weight and this type of substance he tested positive for is used to gain weight so it's illogical. I think this week we will end this case," Sulaiman said. "I respect his need to return to the ring, he has been given the authorization and we are very close to giving him a resolution on the matter."

Anthony Joshua expects to extend his knockout streak Saturday night against Cameroon?s Carlos Takam. While confident in his superior power, Joshua realizes Kubrat Pulev?s replacement is a tough opponent who will be able to take a lot of punishment when they fight at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. ?He is durable,? Joshua told Sky Sports. ?He?ll become more durable because he?ll be in hostile territory. When you come into that type of environment, what have you got to lose? He?ll say, ?I?ll give it my all.? ?

A crowd of mote than 75,000 is expected to show strong support to Joshua, Britain's most popular fighter. The IBF/IBO/WBA heavyweight champion was able to knock out all his 19 foes since he fought his first pro fight in October 2013. Takam was the replacement for the injured Pulev and suffered only one knock out in 39 professional fights. His defeat was a KO in the 10th round against former WBA heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin three years ago in Moscow.

Many fans were asking what round will Joshua stop Takam. He predicted what round when he will be going to knock out Takam. ?I think we?re going for a 10-to-12-round fight because this guy?s head is like a block of cement.? Takam also lost a 12-round unanimous decision to WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker who defeated Takam before he won the WBO belt. Takam's first defeat was an eight-round unanimous decision to Gregory Tony in June 2009.

Anthony Joshua is a big fan of Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Joshua was very impressed by what he saw last month. Joshua felt Canelo was able to nullify Golovkin's ability to overwhelm his opponents with a combination of pressure and power. "Canelo is the best. Canelo is my guy," Joshua told TalkSport. "Golovkin has got explosive hands, power in both hands... And normally they cause a lot of effect on other opponents but Canelo found a way to dismantle what he was trying to do."

Former light welterweight world champion Amir Khan is positive he can get a comeback fight this year after having fully recovered from his hand injury. Khan last fought then WBC middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez in May 2017 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in which he moved up to a catchweight of 155-pounds and was knocked out. Last year, he endured a surgery on his right hand to overcome an injury which he has sustained for years.

The British Pakistani boxer was planning to fight Lamont Peterson at the end of year in a rematch. Both previously fought each other and Peterson defeated Khan for the superlightweight championship in 2011. But that rematch would not be tealized this year because Peterson has already scheduled to fight IBF world champion Errol Spence in January. Khan has a record of 31-4 with 19 KO wins and he is hoping to make a comeback victoriously.
