CEBU CITY -- Newly-crowned WBO minimumweight champion Donnie Nietes is being groomed to defend his title sometime in February, revealed his manager and long-time benefactor Antonio L. Aldeguer yesterday.

Nietes had captured the vacant title with a unanimous decision win over Pornsawan Kratingdaenggym last September 30 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

"I have also made plans of Donnie Nietes first title defense in February and I might include the other ALA Boys like Boom Boom (Bautista), Z Gorres and AJ Banal in the same card. That would be a great attraction and I am confident it will be as big as the ?Moment of Truth", stressed Aldeguer yesterday.

Both Bautista and Banal are slated to face separate foes at the Araneta Coliseum on December 8.

Bautista is set to take on Jesus Rios of Mexico, while the undefeated Banal takes on Jovanny Soto in another 10-round tiff.

Gorres, meanwhile, is set to take on a Colombian opponent at the WBO Convention set this year in Puerto Rico.
