NIETES, PORNSAWAN WEIGH-IN SET TODAY

Filipino Donnie "Ahas" Nietes and unbeaten Thai Pornsawan Kratingdaenggym will meet for the last time at today's official weigh-in before they trade leathers in the main event of tomorrow's WBO miniflyweight title showdown at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

The official weigh-in takes place starting at 11AM today at the Cebu Grand Hotel, one of the sponsors for the huge boxing event.

Nietes and Pornsawan will do battle for the title recently vacated by Puerto Rican Ivan Calderon, who successfully annexed the WBO 108-lb title by defeating Hugo Cazares of Mexico.

WBO Asia Pacific Chairman Leon Panoncillo is supervising today's weigh-in as well as the fight. Also set to grace the event are the fight's officials, including referee Raul Caiz Jr, Levi Martinez and Sawaeng Thaweekon.

Also weighing in today are the fighters seeing action in the five championship showdown in the undercard.

Meanwhile, the Cebu City Government has granted a tax exemption to tomorrow's event, through the initiative of Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmena an dCouncilor Sylvan 'Jack' Jakosalem.

Tomorrow's fight, the biggest in years which will be aired 'live' by both countries in the Philippines and Thailand, will start at exactly 5PM, with the main event set to take place at 8PM.
