MLANG, NORTH COTABATO--Two top Mindanao prospects belonging to the Braveheart Stable will defend their titles today against Indonesian bangers at the town's gymnasium here.

The event is being supported by Mlang Mayor Lito Pinol, Congressman Jun Pinol, Chicago's Rolly Hiso, and North Cotabato Vice-Governor Manny Pinol.

WBO Asia Pacific Youth miniflyweight champion Edren Dapudong will defend his crown for the first time against Jack Amisa in an explosive 10-round fight.

The Pagasa-raised Dapudong, who came in at 105 lbs at yesterday's weigh-in, has vowed to defeat the visiting fighter at all cost.

Amisa, weighing in at 104 lbs, countered by saying he is not cowed by Dapudong's height and reach advantage, as well as the hometown support.

Rengkung, a Japanese-looking Indo fighter, came in at 116 lbs but said Porras is no special and he will win today's fight.

WBO Asia Pacific Chairman Leon Panoncillo will personally supervise today's bout, with referees Bruce McTavish and Tony Pesons each serving as third man on the ring for both fights.

An army of Braveheart fighters are also seeing action in the undercard, all products of North Cotabato's topnotch amateur boxing program.
