TAGBILIRAN, Bohol. The Golden State Warriors came back from 25 points down to beat the San Antonio Spurs, 113-111, and take Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday afternoon at the Oracle Arena.
San Antonio ace Kawhi Leonard re-injured his left ankle after landing on Warriors center Zaza Pachulia's right foot. Leonard exited the game with over seven minutes left in the third quarter and did not return.
The Warriors, behind a red-hot Kevin Durant and Steph Curry, then went on 18-0 run that changed the tide in Golden State's favor. Curry drilled seven 3s to finish with 40 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals while Durant added 34 points and 5 boards.
LaMarcus Aldridge topscored for the Spurs with 28 points, but missed crucial shots down the stretch. Leonard settled with 26.
