
TOP RANK ANNOUNCES SOLIS VS BATAWANG!

In a press release which came out at 15rounds.com today, Top Rank has announced that IBF light flyweight champion Ulises Solis will take on challenger Bert Batawang in the main event of a Top Rank/VERSUS fight card on Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Top Rank also announced that it has re-signed WBC #2 rated lightweight contender Urbano Antillon, 19-0, of Maywood, Calif. Antillon will box in the undercard of the Solis-Batawang tiff.

Tickets are off to a fiery start for Top Rank's big 'Viva Mexico!' fight card Sunday night at the Hard Rock Hotel-Casino. Two-time world champion Jorge 'Travieso' Arce is in tough, taking on tall left-hander Tomas Rojas.
"This is a big fight for me," Arce said. "I am coming off a loss (to champion Christian Mijares) and I do not like the taste of losing. I must win on Sunday night."
Arce is the WBC #1 rated super flyweight. Mijares is the champion. On Sunday, Arce is scheduled for 12 rounds against Rojas.
First bell is 5:15 pm. WBC mini flyweight champion Edgar Sosa will open the show, taking on challenger Lorenzo Trejo. On the undercard, popular Mexican star Jackie 'The Aztec Princess' Nava will take on Donna Biggers. Jorge Paez Jr., son of the former champ, is in a six-round bout.
Fight fans are invited to meet and greet Arce for his Media Day on Friday noontime at the Top Rank gym, 3041 Business Lane, Las Vegas.
Tickets are $200, $100, $50 and $30 and are available at Ticketmaster.com or at the Hard Rock box office on fight night.

FIGHT NOTEBOOK -- Manny Pacquiao, training in The Philippines, and chief trainer Freddie Roach are scheduled to return to the USA on Sept. 22, train at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, Calif., and then head to Las Vegas for the 'Will to Win!' PPV showdown with Marco Antonio Barrera on October 6 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.....
