Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is ready to resume sparring today at the Rex 'Wakee' Salud gym even if he could just have opted to train and not swap leathers with his sparmates.

According to Jayke Joson of Team Pacquiao, the boxing hero has been greenlighted by respected trainer Freddie Roach to spar against one Mexican and one Filipino sparmate today.

Pacquiao jogged this morning at the IT Park with his two Mexican sparmates David Rodela and Raymundo Beltran.

Pacquiao, in an interview last night, says he has fully recovered from a slight flu he had since Friday, and looked fresh after spending Sunday afternoon with his family at the beach.

Pacquiao, however, saw action in a basketball game yesterday morning against Cebu mediamen, although he opted to lessen his playing time.

"I'm feeling ok now. I still have colds but this is very manageable," said the boxing hero in an interview yesterday.

Pacquiao then treated some relatives from Pinamungajan town upon his arrival at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel to dinner, while North Cotabato Vice-Governor Manny Pinol joined them.

Pinol brought some fresh fruits from North Cotabato for Pacquiao, which included some mangosteen, durian and pomelo.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao informed yesterday that Pinol and veteran television personality Quinito Henson will be doing the television commentary for his October 6 fight against Marco Antonio Barrera. Chino Trinidad is also being tapped to be the third man on the panel.

"Gustong-gusto ko silang tatlo ang magkasama sa tv para sa laban ko," said Pacquiao.

Pacquiao is slated to fly to Los Angeles with Roach on September 22, accompanied by prospects Jundy Maraon and Glenn Gonzalez whom Pacquiao assured will be seeing action in the undercard of his mammoth duel with Marco Antonio Barrera.
