IBF junior flyweight champion Ulises Solis will have revenge in his mind when he defends his title against Filipino Rodel Mayol on August 4 at the AllState Arena in Chicago.
Solis versus Mayol will be on the undercard of the Erik Morales-David Diaz WBC lightweight title showdown promoted by Top Rank.
Solis (24-1-2, 18 KO's) is the brother of Jorge Solis, who was defeated by superstar Manny Pacquiao recently in Texas.
“It is a pleasure to fight in a great event with my friend Erik Morales, and even to do it against an Asian rival, whom i know little about, but that it will be a good fight. For me this fight against a Filipino will be a revenge for my brother, so I come very prepared and we are going to win," said Solis.
The Mandaue City-raised Mayol, who has professional mark of 23 wins, 1 loss, 18 knockouts is expected to dethrone Solis although the Mexican is seen as a major threat.
But unlike in his first world title crack, Mayol has reportedly gone through great training camp in Las Vegas, and should be in top shape at the fight.
