Bert Batawang of Cebu will now take on Gerardo Verde in a 12-round IBF junior flyweight eliminator on August 11 at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California.
Verde (15-4, 11 KO's) will replace Francisco Rosas.
Meanwhile, Diosdado 'Prince' Gabi will face Mexican Jose Angel 'Pepe' Beranza in an 8-round encounter also at the August 11 'World Cup' of boxing pitting Philippines vs Mexico fighters at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California.
The hard-hitting Beranza has a record of 30 wins, 9 losses, 2 draws with 25 KO's, and in his last fight last March had decisioned Filipino Vernie Torres.
Gabi, who is managed and trained by Freddie Roach, parades a 29-3-1, 21 KO's card, and is coming off three successive wins since his loss to former IBF flyweight boss Vic Darchinyan.
