Almost four months after his tragic death following a fight in Thailand, the parents of the late Lito Sisnorio have yet to receive his purse for the fight, as well as the promised insurance proceeds from a Thai insurance firm.

According to Angelito Sisnorio Sr and wife Consuelo, 62, in an interview last Monday in Marbel, South Cotabato, they have only so far received the monetary assistance from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB), another amount from the sports commission, as well as the money turned over to them from the Pacland/Philboxing.com fund-raising which amounted to P99, 825.51 (P50,000 of which came from superstar Manny Pacquiao).

"But still, we are very thankful to all the people who helped us through their monetary assistance," said Angelito Sr when shown the names of the forum members as well as the boxing personalities who all chipped in for the fund-raising.

PhilBoxing.com's Salven Lagumbay (R) hands over the funds raised from Pacland forum members to the parents of Lito Sisnorio.

Sisnorio, 64, who is suffering from an advanced case of hernia due to what he described was caused by his heavy works during his younger days, said that they will use the money to buy a piece of land so they can transfer residence in Bo. 5, Marbel, near some relatives. The family currently lives in a secluded area in the farther tip of Bo. 5, which is too far from their relatives.

The couple believes that their son's purse for his tragic fight is still with the matchmaker who arranged the fight, while at the same time they asked for some assistance in following up the promised insurance money from the promoter.
