PACQUIAO CALLS FOR SANCTION ON MAYWEATHER, REMATCH

GENERAL SANTOS CITY ? For the good of boxing and for the sake of
fairness, world boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has challenged the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) to impose appropriate sanction on American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. for using banned IV procedure a day before their May 2 mega-buck fight.

I was vindicated. Kasi dati Mayweather camp had been accusing me of using PED. Pacquiao said.

Pacquiao said he was dismayed when NSAC denied his camp?s request to use USADA-approved pain killer shortly before the fight.

Pacquiao lamented.

Pacquiao said now it came out that USADA gave exemption to Mayweather camp to use banned IV three weeks after the fight.

?Bakit three weeks after the fight lumabas ang exemption? Ano, may itinatago? For the sake of fairness and for the good of the sport, NSAC must be consistent. Kung kailangang mag-impose ng appropriate sanction dapat gawin ng NSAC to sustain its credibility and to show to the world na wala itong preferential treatment na ibinibigay sa Mayweather camp,? Pacquiao said.

Shortly after the Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao weighed in on May 1 for their historic duel the following night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, collection agents for USADA, which had been contracted to oversee drug testing for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, went to Mayweather?s Las Vegas home to conduct a random drug test.

SB Nation?s Thomas Hauser reported that the collection agents found evidence of an IV being administered to Mayweather.

Bob Bennett, executive director of NSAC, which had jurisdiction over the fight, told Hauser that USADA did not inform the commission whether the IV was actually being administered when the agents arrived.

Hauser further reported USADA later advised NSAC that Mayweather?s medical team told USADA agents that the IV was administered to address concerns related to dehydration.

The report added Mayweather was twice administered a mixture of saline and vitamins, supposedly for rehydration purposes in a manner that is banned under World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) guidelines.

Pacquiao said.
