CEBU CITY--A big press conference was held today at the Sugbahan Restaurant to formally announce the August 11 'World Cup' of boxing at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California.

After the press conference led by sportsman Antonio L. Aldeguer, top Filipino promoter Sammy Gello-ani invited the media for yet another presscon to follow after lunch, where the July 7 event at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel was announced.

WBO Asia-Pacific lightweight champion Czar Amonsot will headline the card against tall and lanky Indonesian Hero Katili in a 12-round scrap.

If successful, Amonsot moves on to fight at the 'World Cup' of boxing on August 11, or in one of the Golden Boy Promotions card in the US.

In the co-feature, Korean WBO Asia Pacific interim light welterweight champion Sung Yong Kim will also defend his title against Indonesian Darsim.

Also on the card is WBO Asia Pacific minimumweight champion Donnie Nietes defending his title against a soon-to-be-named Thai challenger.

An exciting RP flyweight title duel takes place when ALA Boy Rocky Fuentes battles Wakee Salud protege Benedict Suico.

Two debuting ALA Boys, both former national amateur standouts, will also be seeing action.

James Bacon takes on Joseph Mateo while Joseph Von Minoza goes up against Tata Galendez.

The rest of the card pits Korean Doo Suk Oh against Cris Alag; Bo Young Kim versus Judith Subingsubing; and Jong Hwa Lee and Jimboy Jacinto.
