MERCADO TO SEE ACTION IN CHRIS JOHN-TAKEMOTO CARD!

Jerope Mercado of the Wakee Salud Stable will see action on the undercard of the WBA featherweight defense of Chris John against Japanese Zaiki Takemoto on August 19 in Rokko Island, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan.
According to Mercado's trainer Juanito Ablaca, his ward will be facing a Japanese opponent in the card.
The Cagayan de Oro-raised Mercado is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Japan's Takuto Nanba last June 3 also in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan where he is currently based.
Mercado showed brilliance in defeating Nanba via scores of 76-74 from all three judges.
The main event will feature Indonesia's WBA featherweight champion Chris John making his seventh title defense against Zaiki Takemoto, who hails from Kobe.
