MORALES TO PROMOTE FIGHT IN NEW YORK, CHICAGO

Three-division world champ and Mexican icon Erik 'El Terrible' Morales and WBC lightweight champion David Diaz are scheduled to appear in a press conference in New York on June 9 and in Chicago on June 12.

Morales will challenge Diaz for the title on August 4 at Chicago's All State Arena, in a fight to be promoted by Top Rank.

Morales will get a short break from his training in Chulavista, California to be in New York and Chicago to help promote the event.

Both Morales and Diaz are also slated to be at ringside for the June 9 Miguel Cotto-Zab Judah fight at the Madison Square Garden.

Aside from the Morales-Diaz fight, also set to defend his title is WBO light-welterweight champ Ricardo Torres who will defend his title against Kendall Holt.

Edgar Sosa, who defeated Brian Viloria for the vacant WBC light-flyweight title, will also defend his new title against Luis Alberto Lazarte.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is also slated to see action in his last outing before he battles Arturo Gatti on November 10 in Atlantic City.
