Filipino boxing trainer Michael John Palacios is slowly and surely carving a name for himself in Thailand, having joined the well-oiled Kokiet Group of Companies since last year.

Palacios, who used to be a trainer for the Elorde Boxing Gym, is currently training WBA no. 1 junior flyweight Nethra Sasiprapa who is set to fight no. 2-ranked Juan Carlos Reveco for the vacant WBA light flyweight title on June 23 in Argentina.

Palacios is also a co-trainer to featherweight prospect Terdsak Jandaeng, who will see action in July for a WBO eliminator.

The Filipino trainer also co-trains ex-WBA superbantam boss Somsak Sithchachawal who will again vie for the title in August or September.

"I am really grateful to Sir Leon Panoncillo for giving me all these opportunities," said Palacios, who previously handled fighters of the Marty Elorde Stable in Manila.

Before immersing himself into training boxers, Palacios underwent some two months of training under the ALA Boxing Gym in Cebu where he learned the finer points of strategizing in a fight and whipping fighters into their best shape possible.

"It has always been my dream, and I always pray that I will someday have a world champion of my own. I hope my prayers will be heard this year," stated Palacios.
