The country's top promoter Sammy Gello-ani has officially announced today its tie-up with a Korean group in an effort to shore up their Asian presence and bring better activity to their respective fighters.

Gello-ani faced the media today at a special press conference held at the Marriott Hotel in Cebu City, accompanied by South Korean promoter Lee Dong Gyu, Boxing Plaza top honcho Park Yong Min, and their planning manager Han Sang Ho.

The collaboration is expected to give Filipino and Korean boxers much-needed exposure and ring activities through the involvement of television here and abroad.

The group's first event, as announced by Gello-ani, will be held on July 7 at the plush Waterfront Cebu City Hotel's Grand Ballroom, which will feature three title matches for the WBO Asia-Pacific crowns. The event will be beamed 'live' in South Korea.

Last year, SGG and the ALA Boxing Gym hooked up with Oscar De la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions in a brilliant stroke aimed at giving world-class exposure to Filipino fighters.

This tie-up with Korea's Boxing Plaza is yet another masterful approach by SGG to solidify its regional presence.
