Rampaging Adamson University, owner of a record 50 unbeaten run, tries to extend that winning streak when it battles Ateneo at the resumption today of the UAAP women?s softball championship Rizal Ballpark.
Coach Ana Santiago and her Lady Falcons are head-on favorites to achieve their goal with a clean 3-0 start and tie idle and league-leading University of the East in their 1 p.m. date with the Lady Eagles.
That?s besides dealing the Lady Eagles their fourth consecutive loss in their 1 p.m. encounter at the bottom of another three-game schedule.
Santiago and the Lady Falcons are actually eyeing their fifth uninterrupted reign as the varsity league?s softball queens and surpass the San Marcelino St. sluggers? four-peat showing from 2005 to 2008.
Santiago, who turned 35 last week and a long-time understudy of softball/baseball great Filomeno ?Boy? Codinera, is, for his part, seeking her eighth crown as head coach from the time she took over the helm when her now ailing former boss retired in 2004.
Third-running La Salle (2-1) takes on last year?s second best team National University in an attempt to retain the momentum of its 3-1 win over Ateneo last January 31.
The Lady Bulldogs, for their part, are out to rebound from the 2-3 defeat they suffered at the hands of the Lady Warriors, also on the same day.
University of the Philippines bats to improve on its 1-2 card against University of Santo Tomas, still winless in two times up, at the opener of the three-game set at 9 o?clock.
