REIGNING World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council Continental flyweight champion Raymond "Tornado" Tabugon of General Santos City will challenge International Boxing Organization (IBO) Intercontinental junior flyweight king Luzuko Siyo on December 12 in South Africa.

The 23-year old Tabugon previously scored a second round technical knockout against Kaichon Sor Vorapin of Thailand last September 9 in Polomolok Gym in Polomolok, South Cotabato.

Tabugon is managed by the country's youngest professional boxing manager-promoter Jim Claude Manangquil, 22, of Sanman Promotions.
Tabugon (14 wins, 6 KOs, 3 loss, 1 draw) won the vacant WBC ABCO flyweight title via a unanimous decision over Jake Bornea last May 24 at the Lagao gym in General Santos City.

Tabugon's last defeat was from the hands of Roma Rate by a UD December 7, 2013 in Dumaguete City. Tabugon was deducted one point after an accidental headbutt that inflicted a cut on Rate's scalp in the 7th round.

Tabugon, however, bounced back by knocking out Jonathan Ricablanca in the 5th round on March 20 at the Lagao gym.

"He's now in good shape after training for two months now," said Manangquil.

Tabugon, a native of Gingoog City, has sparred a total of 104 rounds.

"Mag-request kami na nga dapat six days before the fight sila nandoon na kasi malayo ang biyahe," said Manangquil.
"Hopefully, dalhin nya ang belt pagbalik sa Pilipinas," said Manangquil said.

Siyo (13 wins, 10 KOs, 2 loses) won the IBO Inter-continental crown by stopping in the 5th round another Filipino fighter Macrea Gandionco of Baguio City last June 6 in Eastern Cape, SA.
Siyo also bagged the South African light flyweight title and defended it once in 2011.

The Tabugon-Siyo title-fight is the main supporting bout of the world title-fight for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) International featherweight crown between South Africa's Simphiwe Vetyeka and Mexico's Arturo Santos Reyes.

It is promoted by Andile Sinidile of Sijuta Promotions. - LITO DELOS REYES
