Cuello.
Team Cuello arrived in Davao City this morning for the former world title challenger?s bout against Jaipetch Chaiyonggym of Thailand.
After being away from the ring for a year and three months, Denver Cuello will see action this Saturday October 11 at the Almendras gym.
Promoter and manager Aljoe Jaro informed philboxing that they are looking forward to fighting against the winner of the WBC strawweight title bout between champion Oswaldo Novoa of Mexico and Manheng Mehayothin of Thailand.
Cuello a.k.a. The Excitement, will fight this Saturday at 108 lbs after his ill-fated attempt to wrest the WBC strawweight or 105 lb division world title from then champion Xiong Zhao Zhong of China last June 28,2013 in Dubai. Denver suffered a shoulder injury during the bout and lost by majority decision.
Jaro said that Cuello?s opponent this Saturday does not have much experience as a pro boxer but has more than a 100 bouts as an amateur and as a Muay Thai fighter. Jaro also said that his prized boxer will have to shed more weight before the official weigh-in this Friday.
The Davao City fight card will also feature the likes of Rey Loreto, Rommel Asenjo and Edrin Dapudong.
