Rey Loreto.
Three of the country's top 'small' fighters will see action in very important fights against foreign opponents in the second staging of The Boxing Revolution II in Davao City Oct. 11.

Davao's pride, IBO world jr. flyweight champion Rey "The Hitman" Loreto, North Cotabato's first world boxing champion Edrin "The Sting" Dapudong who lost his superflyweight title in a controversial split decision in South Africa recently, and Iloilo's colorful uncrowned miniflyweight champion Denver "The Excitement" Cuello of Iloilo will go up against quality opponents from Japan and Thailand.

Loreto, 23, a journeyman who struck it big with a stunning 3rd round knockout of former world champion Nkosinathi Joyi on Feb. 2, 2014 in Monaco, wants to post an impressive win as he prepares to defend his title in a rematch against Joyi in December in South Africa.

Dapudong, 27, is also preparing for his return bout with another South African, Lwandile Sityatha, who grabbed his IBO super flyweight title in a controversial split decision July 18 in East London, South Africa.

On the other hand, Cuello, 26, considered as an uncrowned champion, makes his first comeback fight after dislocating his shoulder in a failed attempt towin the WBC miniflyweight title in Dubai last year.

All three are considered Power Punchers who could knockout their opponents with punches backed by raw and natural power.

The Oct. 11 The Boxing Revolution II titled "Clash of the Power Punchers" is the second big boxing card staged by Sonshine Sports Management which is backed and supported by religious leader Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy.

The event will also mark the launching of the Sonshine Sports TV which will start its operations with the airing of sports programs on weekends in an international cable TV channel, 5 free TV channels and hundreds of local cable TV stations.

Also seeing action in the Oct. 11 card are the brightest prospects of Southern Philippines for world boxing titles including former world contender Lorenzo "Thunderbolt" Villanueva, twins Jake and Jade Bornea, both flyweights and former amateur standouts, undefeated bantamweight Jilbert Gomera, former world title challenger Rommel "Little Assassin" Asenjo, tall and undefeated lightweight Roskie Cristobal, the first Manobo pro boxer Michael Bravo, and former amateur standouts Jaime Quitoriano and Ryan Lumacad.

The Boxing Revolution II will be held at the fully airconditioned Davao City Recreation Center formerly known as the Almendras Gymnasium. See More
