West Los Angeles: Top Rank Promotions and its group of co-sponsors Star Boxing, Banner Promotions, Tecate Beer and The Venetian Macao Cotai Arena, held the US West Coast press conference for the Pacquiao vs Algieri fight today just before noon at the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel in Century City.

Right off the bat, the event was pure class.

Of course, that goes to say in most events held at the Century Plaza Hotel, the favorite spot of Barack Obama when he has to sleep over in LA.

The ambiance was great from the Top Rank reception desk where press credentials were handed out to the food line where a sumptuous lunch was waiting for the media folks.

Then there were the stars of the show, Pacquiao and Algieri. The two fighters were nothing but class. Never was an ?F? word mentioned. It was indeed a delight to hear what was supposed to be said and in a manner of how it was said.

Algieri demonstrated in no uncertain way the kind of upbringing he had and his educated background. He spoke eloquently and was direct to the point. He pointed out that the experiences he had in this press tour ?was a good ride and has helped him grow as a person and a champion.?

He also demonstrated superlative sportsmanship when he presented Freddie Roach a stone necklace ?for a source of positivity?. It would not be far fetch to say that such gesture will never come from Floyd Mayweather, Jr!

Pacquiao for his part gave credit to God and the boxing fans. He said ?without you, we will not be here? He also emphasized that they will never underestimate Algieri.

The Pacquiao-Algieri fight will be for the WBO Welterweight title. It is booked at The VenetianCotai Arena on November 22, 2014 (USA time).

Arum announced that fans from the US can avail of a special deal. For a mere $1500.00 anyone can join the flight to Macau, watch the fight live with food and room included.
