CARSON, CA -- In the principal supporting main event, Sergio Bika of Sydney, Australia and Anthony Dirrell of Flint Michigan battled through an ugly fight that involved a lot of clinching that needed to be broken by referee Jack Reiss. With that there were multiple cat calls and boos from the crowd. The fight is so ugly to watch. ?Boring? would have been an understatement.

In fairness, there were a few moments that elicited oh?s andah?s from the crowd. But they too few in between.

In the end, the judges were left to decide who won this ugly fight. As the bell ended the fight one pundit sigh loudly - ?Ah finally?. That of course tells it all.

Scores were 114-113, 116-111 and 117-110 and Anthony Direll became the new WBC super middleweight champion.
