World ranked bantamweight Marlon Tapales is ready for another battle in front of his home fans when he takes on Fadhili Majiha of Tanzania at the Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium, Tubod, Lanao del Norte this Saturday, June 28. The 22 year old Tapales (25-2,9KO?s) is ranked number six in the bantamweight division by the World Boxing Organization and is the WBO Asia-Pacific champion.
Since losing to David Sanchez by majority decision last year in Mexico, Tapales has racked up four straight wins, two of them in Japan. He won his title by unanimous decision against Fredirex Rodriguez by unanimous decision at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel last August.
The 20 year old Majiha (15-3-4,7KO?s) garnered the UBO International flyweight title against countryman Juma Fundi two years ago. Tapales? last appearance in the Mindanao Civic Center was in 2011, a fourth round KO of Thai Yodpichai Sithsaithong. He won the Philippine light flyweight title in the same venue four years ago by stopping Warlito Parrenas in seven rounds.
