OAKLAND, CA ? Undefeated Filipino flyweight contender Froilan 'The Sniper' Saludar winds down his training at the Donaire Sr Gym in downtown Oakland and is set to leave Sunday for Puerto Rico for his awaited showdown with Puerto Rican McWilliams Arroyo on June 19 for the IBF flyweight title eliminator.

Saludar did the mitt-work with trainer Jun Agrabio for 8 rounds as well as the double-end bag and speed bag routines before calling it a day Thursday afternoon. ?Tomorrow is our last day of light workout, then we're all set to leave for Puerto Rico on Sunday,? Agrabio told Philboxing after giving final pointers to Saludar who showed sharp combinations and good footwork.

Saludar trained at the Yraola Gym in Quezon together with Marvin Sonsona for a month before shifting his training to Oakland on May 25. Last week, Saludar visited King's Boxing Gym, also located in Oakland, and sparred with former world champion Abner Mares. Mares's handlers were so impressed with Saludar that they requested Saludar to come back to have more sparring sessions with Mares. Saludar, however, could no longer do additional sparring as his fight with Arroyo is just days away.

Saludar, from Digos City, has a 19-wins 0-losses 1-draw record with 12 stoppages. He captured the WBO Youth Flyweight title, the WBO Asia Pacific flyweight title and the WBO Oriental flyweight title.

Arroyo, rated No. 11 by the IBF, has a record 14-1-1 with of 12 knockouts. He won the WBO Latino title over veteran Luis Maldonado on Mar. 3, 2012 and the WBC Latino title on Feb. 12, 2013 over Miguel Tamayo via 4th round KO.

The Saludar-Arroyo figth will be held at the Coliseo Rubern Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico this coming Thursday, June 19 with the winner likely challege IBF flyweight world champion Amnat Ruenroeng of Thailand.

Saludar does the double-end bag routine under the wathchful eye of trainer Jun Agrabio Thursday afternoon at the Donaire Sr Gym in Oakland, CA.
