While the veteran fighters like Sonny Boy Jaro, Lorenzo Villanueva and Philippine Junior Welterweight champion Adonis Cabalquinto enjoy the top-billing in the June 28 The Boxing Revelation in Davao City, new names and fresh faces will equally be the focus of attention of boxing fans.

Leading the parade of upcoming boxing hopefuls is 20-year-old Roskie "Kapre" Cristobal, the left-handed 5' 10" tall lightweight from Pres, Roxas town in North Cotabato who holds a record of 7 wins all of which came by knockout.

Cristobal, who has captured the attention of Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, will be appearing in his first 8-round bout having fought seven times in four-round and six-round bouts.

With at least two victories in 8-round bouts, Cristobal could be promoted to a 10-round fighter which would qualify him to vie for national and international titles.

Appearing along side Cristobal is a new boxing discovery from Gen. Santos City, superbantamweight Gilbert Gomera who recently clobbered Cebu City's Jordan Catubay to submission in the 5th round scoring his 4th KO in seven professional bouts which he all won.

Gomera, who is managed by Brian Golinggan and his father, Rey, will be promoted for the first time by Sonshine Sports Management.

Another young fighter whose entry into the professional ranks is being awaited is former national team member Jade Bornea, whose twin brother, Jake, also a former national amateur standout is already in the professional division.

Both Jade and Jake are managed by their uncle, Junjun, who is based in Japan and will be promoted by Sonshine Sports Management.

Two other former amateur standouts will also see action on June 28. John Michael Sarguilla, who was gold medallist in the Palarong Pambansa for three successive years and Zoren Collado of Gen. Santos City's Amoy Boxing Team will climb the ring against separate opponents for their second pro bouts.

Both Sarguilla and Collado hurdled their first pro assignments by knockout.

The Boxing Revolution, a project of Sonshine Sports Management, aims to discover new talents in sports, especially boxing, through the staging of monthly boxing events in the different parts of the country.

The fights will be aired on a delayed telecast on SMNI Philippine Sports Channel 39 starting August this year.
