Marvin Sonsona (18-1-1,15KO?s) is on his fifth day of training at the Donaire,Sr Boxing Gym in Oakland, California. Team Sonsona left the Philippines early to acclimatize for the June 7 showdown and important rematch against Wilfredo Vazquez,Jr (23-3-1,19KO?s) of Puerto Rico.

After weeks of hard preparation inside the Yraola Boxing Gym in Quezon City under the tutelage of trainer Jun Agrabio, Sonsona is now at 131 lbs and is in tip-top shape.

?Our target will be 128lbs before we leave San Francisco on June 3 for New York.? Dr. Rajan Yraola informed philboxing, ?Team Sonsona was inspired and motivated in the training after watching Donaire's fight.?

Nonito Donaire won a technical decision against Simpiwe Vetyeka of South Africa in Macau last Saturday to win the WBA featherweight ?super? world title, his fifth in as many weight divisions.

Team Sonsona is now at the gym owned and managed by the champ?s father, Nonito,Sr, who was in his son?s corner in Macau.
Sonsona is highly motivated to avenge his lone career loss this time at the 126 lb category. Four years ago, Sonsona, a former WBO world champion at 115 lbs, lost to Vazquez by 4th round knockout in Puerto Rico for the WBO super bantamweight (122lbs) title.

Their rematch will be held in New York at the Madison Square Garden on the undercard of the blockbuster card between Sergio Martinez and Miguel Cotto.
