Las Vegas--The book-makers at the Mandalay Bay Sportsbook, tonight (March 16th) in their ultimate wisdom decided to pull out the betting line on the Ponce de Leon-Penalosa WBC Super bantamweight title fight tomorrow. Their action is allegedly because the odds against Penalosa winning the fight is so huge that it does not make good business sense to offer wagering on the fight between the Mexican warrior and his Filipino challenger.

Upon getting the said information from very reliable sources, this writer checked other hotels to see if they have done the same.

At the Harrah’s Resort and Casino, as of 10:30 PM, March 16th, the only line available is for the Marquez-Barrera tiff. There is no line for Ponce de Leon-Penalosa.

With the betting line not existing for the Ponce de Leon-Penalosa fight at the Harrah’s, it is safe to assume that none exist either at Harrah’s sister hotels at Caesars Palace, Flamingo Hotel, Bally’s, Paris, Imperial Palace, Harveys , Rio and at Bill‘s Race and Sportsbook.

At Harrah’s, Barrera is -150 and Marquez is +130. The odds of their fight going 12 full rounds is -330 and won’t go 12 rounds is +250.

Barrera by KO is 9/2; Barrera by decision is 11/10. Marquez by KO is 5/1 and by decision is 8/5. Draw is 12/1.
