Fearless 23-year-old Filipino southpaw Jeffrey "The Bull" Arienza (11-2-1, 6 KO's) of Surigao del Norte, impressively pummeled and knocked out tough Japanese Takaya "The Samurai" Kakutani in just two rounds of action to capture the vacant WBC Youth World Lightweight (135 lbs) title last night (Sunday May 4) here at La Trinidad Municipal Gym in Benguet, Philippines.

It's an meaningful win for the Elorde Gym prot?g?, who is likely to be included in the WBC lightweight rankings.

In the high-octane co-main event, tall Japanese speedster Yuya Nakamura of Osaka (IN THE MAIN PHOTO) overpowered Filipino Benjie Bartolome in round 4 to become new Philippines Luzon Professional Boxing Association (LUZPROBA) 112-pounder champ.

In another action-packed battle, hard-hitting 24-year-old super bantamweight Rex Wao (9-0, 7 KO's) of Tadian, Mountain Province kept his unblemished record intact by outpointing tough-as-nails fighter Jovill Marayan of Malolos City, Bulacan. The Wao vs Marayan was a non-title 10-rounder in super bantamweight division.

In attendance greeting fans was Filipino IBO Jr. Flyweight (108 lbs) World Champion Rey Loreto, who last February in Monaco won by knockout the world title.

The entertaining international card last night (May 4) at La Trinidad Municipal Gym was a production of Highland Boxing Promotions and Thailand promoter Naris Singwancha in association with the Municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet and V.I.E.S. Consultancy, with special thanks to Mr. Jay Sobrepena, Camp Johnhay Manor, Happy Homes Development and The Training Center Inc.
