CEBU CITY ? Johnriel Casimero may have entered the ring as an ex-champion, but it did not dull his killer instinct.

Casimero?s swift combinations and power right hand decked Mauricio Fuentes of Colombia three times in the opening round prompting Referee Gerard White to call a halt to the bout. Fuentes looked stunned when he got up from the first knockdown and Casimero swarmed and fired hard hooks. The fight ended with the Colombian rolling on the canvas. Time 2:59.

Casimero lost his IBF junior flyweight title when he was five pounds over the limit during the official weigh-in Friday. Fuentes had a chance to win the title if he had beaten Casimero but his stay inside the ring at the Waterfront Hotel was very short.

Casimero (20W (12KO's)-2L), who fights out of the Omega gym of Cebu, will now be moving up to flyweight and he called out WBA/WBO champion Juan Francisco Estrada of Mexico. Fuentes drops to 16W (10KO's)-3L.

Casimero knocks out Fuentes early.

De La Torre stops Tubigon.

Harmonito dela Torre kept his unbeaten run when he won the vacant WBF superfeatherweight international title by TKO at the start of the 4th round against Gadwin Tubigon.

In a Philippine fight of the year candidate, Jessie Cris Rosales beat Anthony Sabalde by unanimous decision in an entertaining bomb-throwing affair for the WBO Youth Asia-Pacific featherweight title.

They action shifted back and forth until the pivotal eight round when Rosales stunned Sabalde with a right straight.

Rosales landed a series of hard shots but Sabalde recovered to fire back. But Rosales had the edge in the endgame. Judges Ed Olalo,Salven Lagumbay and Edward Ligas all had it 96-94. Rosales keeps his unbeaten run at 14-0,5KO?s.

But Labao pinned Wenceslao on the ropes and landed a brutal volley and Referee Ben Necesario stopped the fight at the 1:55 mark with Wenceslao hanging on the ropes receiving unanswered punches.
