Filipino Welterweight Dan "Iron Man" Nazareno (R) of and Veteran Thai Chalermpon Singwancha (with red shirt) made weight ahead of their 12-rounder rumble for the vacant Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) Welterweight Title tomorrow Wednesday (April 9) in the Central Province of Ang Thong (อ่างทอง), Kingdom of Thailand, 100 Km north of the capital Bangkok.
"The Iron Man" Nazareno (19-10, 15 KO's) of Pampanga comes fresh from a good 2013 in which he won his only two combats by way of knockout. In November, the Iron Man pulverized in less than 6 minutes British boxer Liam Vaughan (8-2, 2 KO's) in one of the undercards of the Pacquiao-Rios fight last November in Macao.
Four weeks later, the 24 year-old Nazareno ravaged in two rounds tough Eusebio "Raging Bull" Baluarte (19-11, 12 KO's) of Bukidnon during their short but furious battle in Binangonan, Rizal; and now the Iron Man Nazareno wants the head of veteran Thai Chalermpon, who is a fearless former Muay Thai warrior willing to engage the Filipino in a man-a-mano rough action. Who will prevail?
Will "The Iron Man" Nazareno scalp his Thai opponent tomorrow in Thailand?
Fighters for April 9 Card in Thailand pose for the Cameras Filipino Dan Nazareno and Former WBC World Champion Sirimongkol is among them.
Thai boxer Chalermpon Singwancha weights in as Filipino Dan Nazareno L and co promoter Naris Singwancha watch on.
The co-main event will feature a battle of former WBC World Champion Sirimongkol Singmanasak against a welterweight late sub from France.
The 37-year-old Sirimongkol is back in pro boxing after serving jail-time for drug smuggling in Thailand, a horrible mistake that will forever regret.
However, a repentant Sirimongkol has learned a important lesson in life, and now as a free man he has a new goal in mind: to follow the path of righteousness and one day battle for a world title again.
The exciting international action card at Ang Thong, Kingdom of Thailand, is co-promotion of veteran Thai boxing patron Naris Singwancha in association with Filipino promoter Brico Santig of Benguet's Highland Boxing.
The fights will be aired LIVE on open TV through the Kingdom on Thailand's Channel 9.
