CotaiArena, Macau ? Japanese Olympian Ryota Murata, fighting professionally only for the third time, made an empahtic statement tonight by knocking out former WBC Latino light middleweight champion Carlos Nascimento of Brazil (28-4-0, 22KO) of their 8-round scheduled middleweight contest. Displaying fast hands with a beautiful stinging uppercut and powerful straight rights, Murata dominated Nascimento from the opening round. A stealth right uppercut staggered the Brazilian towards the end of the 3rd round. Sensing blood, Murata put on the pressure and later connected with left cross that sent Nascimento to the canvas for the first time. Murata continued to apply pressure in the 4th round connecting with uppercuts and right straights that finally put down for good the game Brazilian at 43 seconds of the round after the referee stopped the contest as Nascimento was receiving too much punishment from Murata. Murata registered his 3rd knockout victory in\as many starts.

In a thrilling contest for the WBC Asia Continental super flyweight and WBO Asia-Pacific junior bantamweight championships, Hong Kong rising star Rex Tso was brought into deeper waters for the first time in his young career but finally stopped his rampaging and never-say-die Japanese opponent Mako Matsuyama at 1:27 of the 8th round. Tso knocked down Matsuyama in the 3rd round and appeared headed for an easy win but the Japanese had other ideas as he refused to back down and instead went into attack mode the rest of the night. However, Tso connected with the more telling and harder punches finally in the 8th round, Matsuyama was put down for good at 1:27 in the round. Tso, now 7-0-0, captured the WBC and WBO regional titles.

Earlier, The 'Macau Kid' Kuok Kun Ng entertained the highly partisan Macau crowd with a total demolition performance over sacrificial lamb Rocky Alap-Alap of Indonesia of their 4-round super welterweight bout. The 5'8? Ng, who towers over the Indon who campaigns in the junior welterweight division and who has a recod of 2 wins and 9 defeats going into the contest, knocked down Alap-alap in the 2nd round hitting the Indon with solid shots to the head. Another flush right by Ng to the head of Alap-alap in the 3rd round ended the contest as Thai Referee Sawaeng Taweekoon didn't bother to count as Alap-alap stagerred to the canvas. The 'Macau Kid' registered his 3rd straight win and first stoppage. Alap-alap went down to his 10th defeat in 12 outings.
