JACA ?S MISADVENTURE DOWN UNDER

WBO Oriental light welterweight titlist Jimrex ?The Executioner? Jaca (38W-6L-3D, 21 KO?s) was supposed to face WBO Asia-Pacific light welterweight titlist Chad Bennett (32W-4L-3D,23KO?s) of Australia on the undercard of Sugar Shane Mosley?s bout against Australian Anthony Mundine.

But things turned sour when Mosley pulled out of the fight. Jaca and his trainer Franklin Albia were stuck in Australia begging for their purse. Albia said he had to take a long trip to the Australian Boxing Commission to complain.

But that is not the most disturbing thing about Jaca?s stay in Australia. Albia said that he was approached by someone - who will be referred to as a ?shady character? for this article - and was offered bribe money for Jaca to take a dive.

Albia flatly sa ?NO?. He said he told the guy they were there to win. The bribe was two thousand dollars for Jaca and Albia would also get 1500 dollars if he agreed to the ?deal?. The said shady character even approached Albia a second time making "offers" for Jimrex to lose by knockout.

This happened before Mosley packed his bags and went home to the U.S.

Team Jaca were stranded in Australia wondering about their fate.

Jaca and Albia are back home and were among the spectators during Friday noon?s weigh-in for PINOY PRIDE XXII at the Ayala Center. Jaca lamented the fact that could have been fighting at the Waterfront Hotel this Saturday.
His misfortune Down Under has left him unpaid and shaking his head in frustration.
